Remix lives by our tagline - "Life. Style." We may tread lightly but do not sacrifice good design or style. Where possible we strive to practice corporate social responsibility, working to lessen our impact on the environment of this planet we all share. This includes our operations on the back end through manufacturing to the finished product - the whole life cycle.
We incorporate the lesser of evils including tools (ie: computers) with reduced energy consumption. We try and use natural daylighting where possible while still minimizing heat gain. A healthy environment nurtures a happy one - our office incorporates low-VOC paint, CFL and LED lighting, Energy Star appliances, and plenty of ventilation. We use only green cleaning products and have started our integration of renewable energy and are offsetting our operations with a couple photovoltaic solar panels and will be expanding in the near future.
We make our products with care. The raw goods we use are fair trade and and incorporate textiles that have less impact on the planet - including organic cotton, bamboo, hemp, soy and other natural fibers as well as fabrics made out of reclaimed/ reused products such as micro fleece made out of recycled plastic bottles. We do our best to steer away from more toxic inks such as plastisol and definitely incorporate water-based, non-toxic inks in our manufacturing.
